Lesson Module A-5: Functional Description of APS Front Ends - pg 2

Insertion Device Beam Line

The FE components will be described in their order of appearance from the storage ring outward. The design of the APS ID Front Ends includes two fixed masks and two photon shutters. In addition to confining the beam, the fixed masks serve to limit the length of mechanical components within the photon shutters which are located immediately downstream.
