Controls (ASD-CTL)

The ASD Controls Group mission is to make controls technology work for the Advanced Photon Source. We are excited by engineering, technology and its uses in big science. We are passionate about using our training, experience, skills and energy to create the best and most reliable control systems.
To do this we will
  • Life cycle engineer our technical systems to make sure they meet and exceed the requirements of anyone who uses them;
  • Enhance the user experience by minimizing the downtime caused by control system failure;
  • Integrate control systems into other accelerator subsystems in a timely, methodical, reliable, and integrated fashion;
  • Use teamwork to implement the best possible solution within our budgets and timeframe. This is our definition of quality; and
  • Extend the boundaries of what is possible by using innovative and emerging technology to enhance the capabilities of accelerators as big science tools.
