Bugs in the News

 

That’s not a giant, translucent beetle attacking New York’s Times Square in the photo at right. It’s a graphical accompaniment to a study carried out at the Argonne Advanced Photon Source that revealed new information about what factors govern the size of today’s insects vs. those found in prehistoric times (hint: it’s oxygen).
