CNM Director Supratik Guha Named to Additional Argonne Role

The co-located Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) user facility at Argonne is a close partner of the APS, sharing joint partnerships for example with the Hard X-ray Nanoprobe insertion device beamline at Sector 26, the budding XTIP 4-ID beamline for synchrotron x-ray scanning tunneling microscopy, and rheometry at Sector 8.

The CNM Director, Supratik Guha, has been tapped for additional responsibilities regarding science strategy at Argonne. As of April 1, 2018, Supratik Guha also holds the role of Senior Science Advisor for the Director of Argonne National Laboratory. His new responsibilities include leading preparation of the Argonne Annual Lab Plan and overseeing the Laboratory-Directed Research and Development (LDRD) program. Guha will continue to serve as Director of CNM where he is actively coordinating research efforts in emerging areas such as quantum science, machine-learning and data science.

Visit www.anl.gov/cnm for additional information about accessing the CNM facility for advancing your research; the CNM holds their calls-for-proposals on the same schedule as the APS and joint projects are possible.
