APS has set up a NoMachine Cloud Server for remote beamline operations. Users can run experiments remotely through this server (delos) when it is necessary. NX server webpage, delos.aps.anl.gov To operate remotely, one logs on to the server, either on its webpage or using NX client installed locally on user's computer. Once on delos, a user will see beamline computers they are given access to at a specific beamline. Double clicking them will log on to the computers. Then on the connected computer, one can look for a 'Physical display' or a 'Virtual desktop' if it is set up to use. Access to beamline computers is managed by staff at the beamline and granted generally around the allocated beamtime only. If one wants to use NX client to access delos, they can go to NoMachine download page, and follow instructions there. There are more information and helpful tips on NX and how to use it at APS Wiki on Remote Access. Here is an instruction from sometime back. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is required to access APS computers now. To do that one will need to install DUO app on their phone or other device of choice. There is a video demonstration of how to use it for APS remote access.
