Quantum dot (QD) scintillators can provide high-resolution imaging of ionizing radiation sources with nanosecond response times. This unique detector technology uses large numbers of nanoscale semiconductors, or quantum dots, embedded in a polymer matrix. Previous to this study, only limited research had been performed on the effects of different QD loading levels.
