Abstract
Although industrial accelerators make up the vast majority of accelerators produced globally, their core designs have seen little innovation in recent decades. Today, however, a wave of emerging applications from advanced non-destructive evaluation and next-generation security systems to cutting-edge medical, environmental, and food irradiation technologies is driving the demand for a new class of accelerators. These modern needs call for compact, efficient, and more powerful systems that go beyond the capabilities of conventional machines. In this talk, we will overview the current landscape of industrial accelerators, highlight emerging applications and market needs, and discuss the novel developments that are reshaping the future of this industry.
