CRITICAL INFORMATION
Important Updates and Reminders
UPS: Time Zones and a 24-Hour Clock
- The UPS has built-in customizable time zones. Head to your UPS profile to select your appropriate time zone. All dates and times displayed in the system will update accordingly. If you do not update your time zone, it will default to Pacific time.
- The UPS displays all times using a 24-hour clock. For example, a 2:00 p.m. deadline in Chicago (Central time) will display as 14:00.
Proposal Submission Deadline
- This and future proposal calls will now have a deadline of Wednesday at 14:00 (2:00 p.m.) Chicago time (Central time). This change will help the APS User Office better serve the user community by being available for administrative support at the time of the deadline.
- The submission deadline for the 2025-3 proposal call is Wednesday, June 25, by 14:00 (2:00 p.m.) Chicago time.
Proposal Review Panels (PRPs) and Scoring
- Part of the proposal submission process is to select an appropriate PRP to evaluate and score your proposal. Please review the updated PRP descriptions to ensure that you are requesting the most appropriate panel for your science.
- Scores are calculated using a weighted rubric. The score ranges in UPS will be different than historic score ranges in the former Beam Time Access System.
