Abstract: 

Prof. Andrew Chien will introduce the UpDown architecture for scalable computing in the context of the ongoing BIA Microelectronics project (ANL/UChicago/Northwestern/Fermilab/Rice). One of the aims of BIA is to co-design new computing architectures for X-ray science data acquisition and analysis, enabling Petabyte/second data processing rates. We will stay for open discussion on computing architectures for X-ray science applications after the talk.
