Proposals from staff of a Collaborative Access Team (CAT) or Collaborative Development Team (CDT) are very short, do not expire, and are reviewed through processes developed by the CAT. Details of the CAT Staff proposals can be found in the APS Policy and Procedure for Collaborative Access. In the Beam Time Access System, users create beam time access documentation (a very short proposal) that contains a statement of purpose, standard demographic information (type of experiment, field of research, student involvement, etc.), and a listing of experimenters. The only difference between CAT members and CAT staff is the label used in the Beam Time Access System. Note: Some CATs require staff members to request time as general users. Tips, instructions, and other resources regarding the proposal system are collected on the proposal help page. |
