System: ID Beamlines The ID control system for any device incorporates two limits on the minimum gap: the minimum safe gap and the beamline safety limit, which is larger than the minimum safe gap. The latter must be enforced whenever the PS2 shutter is open for the corresponding front end, since that allows x-rays into the beamline. Closing any gap below the beamline safety limit is permissible only when the PS2 shutter is closed for the corresponding front end. If PS2 is closed, the ID may safely be closed to the minimum safe gap for an indefinite time with 200 mA. Reference: APS_2296630 Procedure for Modifying ID Gap Limits for Machine Studies Issuer: N.
