Beamline POLAR focuses on polarization dependent spectroscopy and scattering studies of magnetic materials in the hard x-rays. This beamline is equipped with crystal phase retarding optics that allow the user to manipulate the polarization of the incoming x-ray beam on the sample (i.e., linear to circular (Pc ~ 0.98) or horizontal linear to vertical linear (Plin ~ -[0.80-0.95]).

This beamline is equipped with phase retarding crystal optics that allow the user to manipulate the polarization of the incoming x-ray beam on the sample (i.e.,linear to circular [Pc +/-0.98] or horizontal linear to vertical linear [Plin -0.80 at low E, ~ 0.95 at high E]). KB focusing optics: 100-200 nm (G Station) and 300-400 nm (H station). Toroidal mirror focusing 30x5 um2. CRL focusing 2x1 um2
