6-BM-A,B: Energy Dispersive Diffraction / Large Volume High-Pressure (NSF SEES)
NSF SEES/XSD
GeoScience, Materials Science
GeoScience, Materials Science
This beamline is dedicated to energy dispersive diffraction (EDD) using white beam radiation. It has two experimental stations. Station A performs spatially resolved EDD measurements on engineering materials to obtain a 3D phase and strain information from the sample. This station is supported by the APS XSD Materials Physics and Engineering group. Station B performs EDD measurements of materials under high pressure using a large volume multi-anvil press. This effort is supported by the NSF SEES consortium through Stony Brook University.
