Hello,

I'm not quite sure what you're referring to, but I did used to have problems with the EDM Properties windows.  As with other Motif applications, the key to customizing EDM's display lies in the .Xdefaults file in your Home folder; editing it might be worth a try.

If this file does not exist in your Home folder, create it and paste in the following lines:
*fontList: -*-lucida-medium-r-normal-*-*-100-75-75-*-*-*-*
edm*background: gainsboro
edm*XmScrollBar*shadowThickness: 1
edm*XmScrolledWindow.shadowThickness: 1
edm*XmPushButton.shadowThickness: 1
edm*XmCascadeButtonGadget*shadowThickness: 1
edm*XmTextField.shadowThickness: 1
edm*XmTextField.marginHeight: 1
