Some sites use individual operator accounts in the control room,

NSLS2 falls into this category. We also have home directories shared between computers. This has led (unsurprisingly) to people leaving CSS running on one machine, and forgetting which one.

So far it seems like we must either have separate workspaces for each machine, or have a way of finding "lost" instances of CSS.

@Kay, I didn't know about "-share_link" which seems like it has good possibilities for helping manage separate workspaces.

I'm also planning to modify our wrapper script to write a file with the host name.

Has anyone else had/solved this problem?

Also, has anyone found a way to add projects to a workspace automatically or from the command line?

"built in", or you use a -pluginCustomization file
that has them, so end users don't need to bother

We also use this for per-machine configuration.

Other CAJ users might be interested in adding.

-vmargs -Djava.net.perferIPv4Stack=true

Otherwise CAJ sometimes tries to use IPv6 broadcasts for name lookup.

Thanks,
Michael
