Hello folks,
We are currently trying to understand implications of choosing a
relational database to interface with EPICS. To this end, I would
like to solicit answers to the following questions. If you send
replies to me, I will compile the results and post them to Tech-Talk.
Please feel free to send replies with only some of the questions answered.
Thank you for your help and participation!

1. How many relational databases do you use at your facility that
interface with EPICS?
2. What database systems do you use? (Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
3. Do you use IRMIS?
4. Do you generate IOC database files directly from your database?
5. What is the approximate size of your in-house support staff for
your database?
6. Do you store hardware connection information in your database?
7. Would you use a different system if starting over now? If so, which?
8. Were there any particular difficulties that were unexpected?
9. Is there anything else I should be asking?
