We have been using MAXv boards in place of OMS58 boards for all new
purchases at APS sector 13 and NSLS X-17. They are basically completely
compatible with the OMS58 for stepper applications. The nice thing is
that they can be used for DC motors with encoders on a motor-by-motor
basis, and we have used them a bit for DC motor applications.
