I just finished building R3.13.0.beta12 on various flavours of Linux (
ia32, 68k & powerpc). The basic channel access libs work under all
three architectures, however, the ca server libs don't seem to work
under intel linux. I executed the command:
./excas -d8 -t5
under each system. The 68k & ppc systems both replied with a bunch of
messages describing search attempts by other clients on the network.
However, the intel version just sat there until it timed out.
I assume there is an endianness problem somewhere.
The compiler & kernel versions used are:
intel:
redhat 5.1, kernel 2.0.34, gcc 2.7.2.3, egcs 2.90.27 980315
68k:
debian 2.0, kernel 2.1.106, gcc 2.7.2.3, egcs 2.90.29 980515
ppc:
linuxppc 4, kernel 2.1.24, egcs 2.90.25 980302
Has anybody got excas to work on intel linux?
Regards,
Guy Jennings
