Hi Bill:

I wrote support for this:

IPIC610/IPIC616 VME IP carrier boards
ATC40 ISA/PC carrier board
IP16-ADC
IP-DAC SU
IP-UniDig-I-E
IP-Relay

The software has never been used in 'real life', but has been running
on a PC IOC for several weeks now. The old VME software (before the PC
addition) was reportedly OK, I tried it shortly after the PC port
and hope it's unbroken ... never change a running system ;-)

The VME version was originally developed for EPICS 3.12, the PC version on
3.13.
The idea is that the same software should run on both PC and VME based
IOCs, the _very_ different handling of addresses and interrupts is
hidden in the carrier board drivers.
The drivers (not the devices) can also be compiled to use only VxWorks,
no EPICS devRegisterAddress etc.

Sometimes there is a manual available from my PC's Web server:
        http://atlanta.atdiv.lanl.gov/Gsip/main.htm
(It won't be accessible over this weekend because of a power outage.
If I am heavily using my PC, you won't have a chance, either)

On January 1, 2000, some computer applications
will fail, that is if they have not already failed
between now and then...
