Hello Matthias,

I (together with Babak, who is mainly working on that subject) am willing
to contribute whatever we can to the time services issue. I am at the moment
in Japan and it is a bit difficult to get access to email, so I cannot
unfortunately be of too much help right now.
Anyway, what we are planning (and have partly implemented) is a better
support for time synchronization of heterogenous systems and architectures
(hard/soft timekeeping).

Sorry for the sparse input at this time.

Best regards,

Timo

Hi all,

time is running - that's obviously not new and it does not help me
writing an abstract. If I take the response to my mail into account I
must be really pessimistic about the EPICS future. But you know that
this is not my viewpoint.

So here's a set of topics I am proposing for the abstract:
(I need your help! - until Friday this week)
Core:
Flavored data (input from Jeff)
Support for new time services (core group and Timo)
Support for multiple operating systems (core group)
Big and even bigger arrays (core group)
Java IOC (Marty/ Kay)

Applications:
Beamline control (SynApps?)
XAL: new developments @ SLAC (Greg can we mention your plans to go for
Eclipse?)

Redundant IOC: (DESY)

New Alarm System (DESY/ Geoff(FNAL) )

CSS: New Operator Interface Framework (DESY)

Please add your topics and send your comments asap.

Regards
Matthias
