I think pvaPy is ready for use in a production environment as much as EPICS v4 is (we have been using it at APS for a while now). If you are looking to get started, you can get the code from https://github.com/epics-base/pvaPy (start with readme file that contains build instructions, some examples of usage, etc.). Documentation can be found at http://epics-pvdata.sourceforge.net/docbuild/pvaPy/tip/. If you need any help with building it, or find any issues, please let me know.

Hi everyone,

I was reading the FAQ of EPICS v4 (http://epics-pvdata.sourceforge.net/faq.html) and I found the following statement: " Java and C++ implementations exist. pvData and pvAccess in C++ are working. pvData, pvAccess and pvIOC in Java are working. Some example pvServices have been written in Java. Work is in progress on a Python interface to the C++ libraries."

I am curious about the current state of pvaPy. Is it ready for its use in production environment?
