Hi
Just wondering if there is a mechanism for modifying the values of stream protocol user variables.
‘param’ is the user variable whose value I am attempting to alter.
param = "0";
getString {
out "string? " $param;
in "%s";
}
The following do not affect the user variable ‘param’, declared above:
paramE {
$param = "1";
out "NOP " $param; This actually is always “0”
}
paramD {
$param = "0";
out "NOP " $param;
}
The following work, in a sense, in that the param variable changes, but it’s scope appears to be within the specific protocol function, that is, the ‘global’ variable at the top is not affected.
PE {
param = "1";
out "NOP " $param; This does have the value “1”
}
PD {
param = "0";
out "NOP " $param;
}
Also, it seems that an ‘out’ and/or ‘in’ statement is always necessary (errors occur otherwise), indicating that a protocol to simply change a user variable is not possible.
Thanks,
Al
