Hi All,

many thanks for the corrections. I will integrate these in the next distribution. By the way, the classes that are not integrated in edl2ui have perhaps some equivalent in caQtDM. However I was not able to do anything with them, knowing "almost nothing" about edm. If any of these classes would be an important extension of caQtDM, they could be integrated. User input is very welcome.

Probably I will be at the epics collaboration meeting in East Lansing. You can give me then more input.

Best regards

Anton

Subject: caQtDM evaluation at SLAC

Hello All,

At SLAC, we are currently evaluating different options for replacing our EDM displays and are very interested in collaborating with the EPICS community. We have recently evaluated caQtDM and are just beginning to try epicsQT.

We did have to make some modifications in order to successfully use the edl2ui conversion tool with our EDM displays. I have attached an updated parserClass.cc file, which includes SLAC's changes as well as updates from Zai Wang <[email protected]>. I have included comments to help document what was altered at SLAC in order to address two different "Buffer Overload Errors" we received.

We also updated caQtDM_Install to include cp -v caQtDM_Binaries/edl2ui ${QTDM_BININSTALL}/.

I have started capturing which edm classes we currently use at SLAC, but are currently not supported by the edl2ui conversion tool.

List of unsupported edm classes by edl2ui:
"TextupdateClass"
"activeGroupClass"
"activeChoiceButtonClass"
"activeXTextDspClass:noedit"
"activeFreezeButtonClass"
"ByteClass"
"activeSymbolClass"

Thank you for your input!

Alisha
