msi is an EPICS extension that converts database files. You can download it from the EPICS Extensions Web page. Put the "epics/extensions"/bin/linux-x86_64 directory in your path.

Subject: Problem with synApps installing

Hello and thank you in advance for the help.

I am trying to install synApps on my Linux machine and I encountered an error when I used 'make' ( 'make release' ran okay ).

Inflating database from ../ioc.template
msi -I. -I.. -I../O.Common -I../../../db -I/opt/epics/base-3.14.12.3/db ../ioc.template > ioc.tmp
/bin/sh: msi: command not found
make[4]: *** [../O.Common/ioc.db] Error 127
make[4]: Leaving directory `/opt/synApps_5_7/support/devIocStats-3-1-7/iocAdmin/Db/O.linux-x86_64'
make[3]: *** [install.linux-x86_64] Error 2
make[3]: Leaving directory `/opt/synApps_5_7/support/devIocStats-3-1-7/iocAdmin/Db'
make[2]: *** [Db.install] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/opt/synApps_5_7/support/devIocStats-3-1-7/iocAdmin'
make[1]: *** [iocAdmin.install] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/opt/synApps_5_7/support/devIocStats-3-1-7'
make: *** [/opt/synApps_5_7/support/devIocStats-3-1-7.install] Error 2
[root@Epics support]#

I think error 127 comes from a missing compiler, but I can't figure it out, is bash trying to use a command 'msi'? but isn't that windows related?
