Hi Leige,

You might also be interested in looking at the following which includes
a library for PCI bus access like the devLib VME interface in EPICS
Base.

http://epics.hg.sourceforge.net/hgweb/epics/devlib2/

Three big caveats though:

1) This assumes OS support for your CPU board. This is more an issue
with RTEMS/vxWorks then with Linux.

2) This is new code. I plan on making the initial release shortly. The
RTEMS and vxWorks implementations have been well tested, but the Linux
implementation has not.

3) The Linux implementation works as a user-space driver. With Linux
the choice between kernel or user-space driver is something that needs
to be considered carefully for each device. (a user-space driver is not
the best choice for a fast digitizer like the Aquiris devices that Yong
mentions).
