Hello there,
I am currently looking for scopes.
* 2 of them possibly
* one with high-end performance
* one with respectable/middle range performance
* A total of 8 concurrent channels to monitor 30+ multiplexed signals
First about the high-end scope, the specs are as follow:
Bandwidth: 250Mhz
1G samples per second
2 channels with 14+ bits resolution.
Memory 32/64MS
RACKMOUNTABLE
I just spoke with ZTEC and just learned how expensive high-end scopes
can be. So price is a concern, but also epics support (preferably on
linux platform but open to alternatives).
What do you recommend and what are you using?
is there an epics driver for it?
Are some platform, generally cheaper than other?
About the middle-range scope:
8bit resolution
6 concurrent channels
What do you recommend?
What are you using?
Again is there an epics driver for it?
Nowadays more and more companies support epics. ZTEC for example
provides a half-U unit high-end scope with ethernet connection and epics
IOC. Awesome!!
Price range 4K per channel.
About signal multiplexing:
For high-end scope there is another issue which is multiplexing.
Indeed high-bandwidth RF signals need to be mux'ed.
Nobody seems to sell mux for high-bandwidth signals.
Have you found any manufacturer who does that?
Cheers, EPICS rule!
