You can do this in two ways with medm ... an animated gif which has a process variable attached to it to indicate which frame to display ... OR ... do your own animation using overlayed objects and the visibility modifier.

If you launch the Virtual LINAC test application, you will see an interesting animation if you overheat the cathode ... tehehehe
