We have been working on writing an IOC on a Linux running EPICS
3.14.8.2 and Asyn 4-4 the last few days trying to connect to an RS-422
serial device that sends out signal 4 times a second. The device is a
home made device, but it sends out ASCII character to its serial port.
While we have no problem reading the ASCII values in the terminal
emulation program, we are having a problem trying to read the stringin
under EPICS. It reads about a second or two, then, we get
segmentation fault. We have adjusted the scan rate and time-out
values in the device support, but we can't seem to get this right.
Does any body have an idea how to deal with this??
