Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System
For an application it is necessary to sent UDP broadcast messages. When
configuring the st.cmd file for the startup of the IOC as following:
drvAsynIPPortConfigure("L0","10.255.255.255:503 udp",0,0,0)
I get the following error from the epics shell:
Can't connect to 10.255.255.255:503 udp: Permission denied 15121872
autoConnect could not connect
A search through google suggested that setsockopt maybe has to be configured
different. Unfortunately there is no asynSetOption associated with TCP/IP or
UDP/IP.
When searching through the asyn source code a found a few calls of this
function in the "drvAsynIPPort.c". It is not clear for me if this is the
solution and where to change it because all the function calls have
IPPROTO_TCP as an argument while I am using UDP.
My question is how the communication can be arranged.
