Are you sure you're using the right version of vxencrypt for your vxWorks
image? I seem to remember that WRS changed the password encryption
recently, maybe in a patch file, because it wasn't making use of the first
character or something like that. Should you be using a version of
vxencrypt from a different tornado release then you'll see the problems
you're getting. Do a which vxencrypt and/or use an explicit pathname to
the tornado version that you're booting and see if you get a different
encrypted string.
