I'm having difficulty with remote login (with telnet or rlogin) to a
recently setup VxWorks ioc.
The system is an MVME167, vxWorks 5.4, kernel 2.5, tornado 2. VxWorks was
built with INCLUDE_SECURITY defined, and I specified in configAll.h a
LOGIN_USER_NAME and a LOGIN_PASSWORD (generated with vxencrypt on a
solaris 7 host). I have confirmed that rlogind and telnetd are running on
the ioc.
Connnecting via a console port to the crate works fine and everything
appears to be functioning correctly.
However, telnet or rlogin to the crate results in "Login Incorrect" using
the specified user name, passwd pair.
loginUserShow() confirms that the user exists and I can delete the user
with loginUserDelete().
I can successfully add users with loginUserAdd() (with a password
encrypted by vxencrypt), but still cannot use this user for remote logins.
I even tried reinstating the default "target/password" pair that comes
with VxWorks, but still couldn't use that for a remote login.
I did not change the default loginDefaultEncrypt() routine.
Rebuilding vxWorks without INCLUDE_SECURITY results in normal rlogin,
telnet access (without user/passwd prompts), but I do need to require
passwd access to the ioc so this is not an option.
Thanks for any help,
