Yes, sorry I had a temporary bit of amnesia, and you are correct. In fact gdd
does not currently handle floating point conversion, but the CA server does if
CONVERSION_REQUIRED is defined because it will then use the host format
to network format conversion code that is built into the CA client library. This
change was added when we were porting to the PC environment to solve
endian problems, and so I didn't immediately leap to the conclusion that the VMS
floating point conversion problems had been solved.
