Subject: VME IO scanner 6008-SV

     Does anyone have any experience with the VME IO scanner 6008-SV?   
     
     We recently got a replacement prototype, the 6008-SV1R.  
     Unfortunately, we were told that we couldn't use the replacement in 
     mission-critical applications, and we can't use the original for EPICS 
     software development.  
     
     Does anyone know if either of these are suitable?
     
     If we develop software for the new prototype, will things change when 
     the new production unit arrives, causing us to have to rewrite?
