I just finished some EPICS device support for the PENTEK Model 4261a
10 MHz 12-bit A/D board.  My support uses the waveform record and currently
runs using the external trigger and I/O interrupt scanning.  When the
waveform record initializes, the 4261a is programmed to take samples using
the size of the array (in the waveform record).  The external trigger
causes the 4261a to start taking samples, when the correct amount
of samples is taken, the 4261a interrupts the mvme167 (vxWorks) and does
the waveform record processing.

The support I have can easily be expanded to use other modes of data
collection such as period scanning instead of external trigger.
