Experiments performed in the sector fall primarily into two areas:

1. studies of dynamics by x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy (XPCS) or x-ray intensity fluctuation spectroscopy (XIFS)
2. grazing-incidence small-angle-x-ray scattering (GISAXS) studies of the structure and kinetics of heterogeneous thin films
