The present ferrite-based tuner system used on the Fundamental PAR rf cavity has been in use since the start of APS operations. A complete design and development effort to upgrade the cavity tuner system with modern components is recommended to alleviate obsolescence and to provide improved performance and reliability to meet future operating requirements. |
