Abstract:

Evolutionary computation algorithms that automate the tuning of insertion devices (ID) have been developed. For tuning of the ID trajectory and phase, the algorithms optimize the tuning parameters with differential evolution-based global optimization. The algorithms have been successfully applied to 28 hybrid permanent magnet undulators (HPMUs). The algorithms, tuning results and experiences will be presented in detail.
