We build our EPICS IOC as a shared library, and then start it using LabVIEW. https://github.com/sbaily/lvPortDriver
includes the EPICS device support and LabVIEW libraries necessary for the interface. The database and IOC get built in the usual way for EPICS (so you have a full IOC with all records and capabilities), but it runs as part of the
