Subject: Building example IOC app on Windows

Hello all,

I’m trying to build the example IOC app from the template directory of my EPICS installation. I’m using EPICS 3.16 and mingw32 on a 64 bit Windows machine. I’m pretty sure that my EPICS installation has been built properly but I’d like to test it. Unfortunately I’m having trouble running the Perl script that should build my example IOC application.

c:\example>perl ..\epics\base-3.16.1\bin\win32-x86-mingw\makeBaseApp.pl

-d –b C:\epics\base-3.16.1 -T  C:\epics\base-3.16.1\templates\makeBaseApp\top  -t example example

However, no new files get created in the C:\example directory. It remains empty. Further, specifying –i and –a options yields a similar result (see below), but without the printout claiming some sort of action. I am unsure what the nuance of specifying –i does, but I imagine I need it since I want to run the application on the iocsh, and “boot files” sound important for doing that.

Any help is appreciated, and thanks for reading.

-Andrew
