Hi all, To start from the beginning. I’m quite new to EPICS, and I’m experimenting with its basics at the moment,
by trying to set up a softIoc from scratch. I have an EPICS base of R3.14.12.5 already installed and the host OS is a RedHat linux. My project structure is as follows: myFirstIoc/ ├──PowerSupplySimu.db └───st.cmd When I do softIoc st.cmd the ioc is being initialized and is running, at least it seems like. In the softioc shell I can list the records found in the PowerSupplySimu.db file. epics> dbl PowerSupply1:ReadBack PowerSupply1:OutputValue … But when I open a terminal and trying to get the value of any of these PVs like: caget PowerSupply1:Readback I get the following response: Channel connect timed out: ’PowerSupply1:Readback’ not found. I was looking for resources on the web but managed to find nothing unfortunately. I guess I’m overlooking something or some setup is missing, or maybe I’m doing it completely wrong.
