Subject: Upgrading to CSS 4.5

Hi

We are testing the new CSS 4.5 but we are facing some problems when designing and running OPIs (The current OPIs that we also tested were designed in CSS 3.2.16):

1.       When trying opening OPIs using the "Standalone Window" mode, it gives an error saying:
"Plug-in org.csstudio.opibuilder was unable to instantiate class org.csstudio.opibuilder.runmode.OPIShellSummary"

2.       In CSS 3.2.16, there is the open OPI option "Open in new Window" has become "New workbench" in 4.5, but it opens the OPI with default size (800x600?) and not fitting to the OPI dimensions. The option "Detached Tab" almost fits the OPI but you have to adjust OPI's width and height manually to fit it in the detached tab.

3.       Even with the Option "Edit -> Preferences -> CSS Applications -> Display ->BOY -> OPI Runtime -> Start application window in compact mode" being checked the OPI is not being opened automatically in compact mode and I have to press F8 to do it.

4.       Seems like Channel Access is not the default data source. The console gives me this error "Channel X uses default data source but one was never set.". I think it has to do with the file diirt/datasources/datasource.xml, some definition to be added?

5.       Compact mode window dimensions fitting to the OPI has always been an issue. It does not fit at all and I have to set the width and height of the OPI by trial-and-error in order to fit the OPI. Same issue appears on multiple monitors with different aspect ratios. Is the problem within the CSS, OS, display, or something else?

Tested CSS versions are NSLSII 4.5 and 4.3.3 on Scientific Linux 7.3 .

Best Regards,
