Hi Hinko,
You can specify where to put each attribute in the HDF file using a different type of XML file that defines the HDF5 file layout. It is documented here:
http://cars.uchicago.edu/software/epics/NDFileHDF5.html
You can tell it a different location for all NDAttributes, or the location of each individual NDAttribute. You cannot tell it to put the NDAttributes from the Stats1 in one location, those from ROI1 in another location etc. as a group, you need to do it for each individual NDAttribute.

Subject: Location of plugin attributes in HDF5
Hi,
if I set 13ANDOR1:ROI1:NDAttributesFile to point to some XML and also 13ANDOR1:Stats1:NDAttributesFile I get both attribute lists under /entry/instrument/NDAttributes, along with all the attributes from 13ANDOR1:cam1:NDAttributesFile list.
Can I have them in separate groups?
Thanks,
Hinko
