The use of dbVerify in autosave is just a sanity check before restoring values, so removing the references to dbVerify won't cause any problems unless you are changing the record type of PV's between reboots. Here's a version of dbrestore.c that doesn't do dbVerify checks so you can at least compile and run:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/epics-modules/autosave/dbrestore-3.16-patch/asApp/src/dbrestore.c

We'll work on replicating this feature for the next autosave release.

Hi Andrew,

I tried 3.16.1 against our module tree, most build issues looked to be simple ones and covered in the release notes, the only one that wasn't occurred when building autosave asApp. Building this module terminated with a linking error when it couldn't find   dbVerify(), the function is listed in   dbStaticLib.h   but I couldn't see an implementation of it

Regards,

Freddie

Thanks for the feedback. I will be creating the final release this afternoon; any issues found now would have to be fixed in a future
3.16.2 release, or in the first release of EPICS 7. There might be a few changes needed in some downstream modules built against this, check the Release Notes for details; these changes should be reported to the respective module maintainers (or to tech-talk).
