Dear all,
The JCA/CAJ modules (Channel Access client for Java) will be moved to GitHub under a new maintainership. As part of that move, we would like to drop supporting the JNI option, i.e. using the native C/C++ libraries through the JCA API. Using this native option was appropriate in some cases while early versions of the pure Java implementation (CAJ) were fighting with scalability and performance issues. However, recent releases of CAJ have proven to be scalable and performant, so we do not see enough justification for the additional maintenance and test effort. If you are using JCA/JNI, please speak up so we are aware of this and can support you in migrating to the pure Java client. Best regards, Ralph Lange and Kunal Shroff ps. Last not least: thanks to Cosylab for supporting the source code move.
