This is the feature I was after: returning an index from a waveform record. I’m using EpicsQt for this project and think I have found a way to do this on the client. It may still be a useful feature to add to the Archiver Appliance. For example, you could make a plot with a waveform index vs. time in the Archiver Appliance webpage.
Best regards,

We don't have any hooks in the data retrieval process (I think that's what you are asking for). You could add an external server that did this; the API for an external server is a couple of HTTP calls but it may be significantly simpler to do this at the client end.
As a new feature it might not be too hard to support slices - EBT-SOMESTUFF:BAR[1], EBT-SOMESTUFF:BAR[0:5], EBT-SOMESTUFF:BAR[-1] etc. Please let me know if this would have served your purpose and we can add it in.
