Hi Linda,

Good information about the firmware versions, thanks.

I'll send you the support off-list.

Pierrick,

Watch out for firmware version and make sure your manual version matches your firmware version and the equipment because the same controller is used for slightly different applications pre-configured.   We have two F-70H we acquired a while ago with supply of instrumentation for an End Station.

The manual did not describe monitoring via serial link so we tried to control and monitor them via VME digital IO and analogue cards.

It turns out that the original firmware did not support serial monitoring and control, but later versions of the firmware do.  We actually have two Sumitomos with the same model number but with different versions of the firmware V1-5(not serial capable) and V1-7 (serial capable – v1-6 and above) and two different versions of the manual were supplied at different times.   The firmware version can be displayed on the little screen.  (The outcome was that we achieved some monitoring, but not control because the system can be used in different “modes” based on the “mode configuration” switch which affects what the pins mean and it was wired for one mode and needed to be operated in another.   However staff on the beamline owning the compressors were satisfied with the monitoring).

Carl,

Another of our beamlines now has Sumitomo compressors with newer firmware and they use CSS, so we would be interested in the serial support for that, is there a link for it?

Thanks,

We have support that uses the serial port, with stream device.  The GUI is for BOY.

Hi,
Does anyone have support for a Sumitomo F70 cryo-compressor?
Thank you,
Pierrick
