Analog feedback with closed loop PID is a standard feature on the 4080 controller. Though, it would work better with the 16 bit option. Here are some useful Galil commands:

AF - Define analog feedback. Uses uncommitted analog inputs
TE - Tell current error
OE - Off on error. Define allowed following error before motor off. Stop runaway
TC - Tell error code
BN - Burn settings to EEPROM

Analog feedback Galil command is not available through the Galil EPICS driver. First set analog feedback in galilTools using AF, then burn settings to EEPROM. Continue to configure the motor, and feedback in Galiltools, and burn settings when finished. Once finished, the Galil EPICS driver 3-4 should work as normal.

The analog voltage is decoded into counts as per the ADC resolution, and range setting.

Good luck, and best,

Mark
