Hi Carl,

I think you just need to get the latest version of sscan.  The master branch on github has the line with tsdefs.h commented out with a note for 3.15.  That was done on Aug. 20, 2015.

https://github.com/epics-modules/sscan/blame/master/sscanApp/src/saveData_writeXDR.c

That change was done before release 2-10-2, so it should be in there as well though I don’t see it in the release notes.

Mark

Subject: sscan module difficulties with EPICS 3.15 base

Hello folks,

As a very part-time recreational user of EPICS (really only with Mark Rivers' MCA application), you will have to excuse an unhealthy amount of ignorance that is sure to besmirch the ensuing concern of mine.  With that disclaimer out of the way...

I am trying to install the MCA application, its required modules, and EPICS R3.15.5 on a Windows 10 64-bit PC.  When attempting to build the sscan module, required by MCA, the errors below are produced, beginning with the inability to find tsDefs.h (it does not exist in R3.15).

I'm aware that sscan is not explicitly said to be compatible with R3.15, but only R3.14.  And that is probably why the tsDefs.h error arises.  My question to knowledgeable users is whether there might be a simple fix (commenting out the tsDefs.h line?) or whether my only realistic option is to install the older EPICS base.

Thanks,

Carl Willis
