Hi Yingbing,

I think you need to describe the desired usage more completely.

Is the remote access needed for SSRF staff to diagnose and fix problems from offsite?  Or is it for users to be able to conduct experiments and retrieve data remotely.  

The first problem is much easier and we do it routinely at the APS.  Tools include ssh, VNC, etc.

The second problem is more difficult.  You need to worry about authentication, exactly what controls you can safely allow to be controlled from non-expert users remotely, etc.  Some beamlines at the APS do this, particularly the protein crystallography ones.

The SSRF control system is based on EPICS. It has been operated more
than seven years. Recently the need for remote access (outside of the
gateway) became more and more urgent. I want to make a survey.

1. Does your control system allow remote access ? Only monitor, or ... ?
2. What is the best way to implement it?
3. Is it possible to browse the archive data?
