Hi,
I’ve tried both releases on windows 7 x64 with Visual Studio 2015 and found an issue with the same test in both
epicsStdioTest.t ........... Failed 3/166 subtests
Test Summary Report
-------------------
epicsStdioTest.t (Wstat: 0 Tests: 163 Failed: 0)
Parse errors: Bad plan. You planned 166 tests but ran 163.
epicsStdioTest.c plans 166 tests on Windows but 163 otherwise, if I build using Visual Studio 2010 instead 166 tests passed OK. On further investigation it seems the issue occurs within testEpicsSnprintf() and is due to Microsoft changing (fixing) the formatting of "%8.2e" by sprint():
In Visual Studio 2010 this generates 1.23e+004
In Visual Studio 2015 this generates 1.23e+04
Regards,
Freddie

Subject: EPICS Base Release-Candidate Double Feature!
Ralph Lange and I have today tagged and generated Release Candidate[1] versions of two new versions of EPICS Base for testing purposes. The final releases of these will happen in about 2 weeks time provided no major problems are reported in that period. Please report any problems you find with these to this tech-talk mailing list.
Base-3.14.12.6-rc1
See http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/base/R3-14/12.php for the download link and Release Notes.
Base-3.15.5-rc1
See http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/base/R3-15/5.php for the download link and documentation.
These releases contain bug-fixes and various minor updates, and should be compatible with software written for previous releases. See the published Release Notes for details. Most of these modifications were first applied to the Base-3.14 branch and the changes merged up to the
Base-3.15 branch.
One new feature that is present in both releases is that PCAS now supports variable length array monitor updates — thanks to Matej Sekoranja, Bruce Hill and Ralph Lange for implementing that.
The 3.15 branch does contain a major performance improvement to the IOC when loading large numbers of database records.
Thanks to all the EPICS Core Developers for their work on these releases.
